I actually had to tone it down a bit now that I'm a manager. Still on my union drive and doing my best to educate the younger folks I work with, I just try to find ways to offer up materialist analysis without going mask off. It also forces me to think in ways that translate theory into simpler and non-threatening terms.
I really worry I'm starting to sound like that. I can't go ten minutes without making a snide comment about capitalism.
Never got into star trek, only watched some of the movies, (no not just the new ones but super hot take those were alright actually even if I'm sure they're abominations when it comes to the themes of the show)
Makes for great memes though for sure.
Some day I'll probably get around to it, it's just there's so much out there to watch and I already have absorbed so much trek through osmosis from deep effort posts here to all the nerd shit I watch on youtube.
Eh just watch TNG and DS9, they're legitimately good, but the rest is just for hardcore fandom nerds
Yeah from what I've gathered from people on here season one isn't worth watching
Yeah you don't miss much. DS9 takes a bit to find its footing, too, though it's not nearly as bad, and there is some worldbuilding in the first season that does matter, which TNG doesn't really have since it's an Adventure of the Week show.
