CAPE CANAVERAL, Fla. (AP) — The astronauts who will depart the International Space Station on Sunday will be stuck using diapers on the way home because of their capsule's broken toilet. NASA astronaut Megan McArthur described the situation Friday as “suboptimal" but manageable.
Fun fact, Al Shepard did this waiting for his launch. Had no nappy so it just settled in his suit until it evaporated out through life support.
Edit:, also, this charming log from Apollo 10
LMP Gene Cernan: Where did that come from?
CDR Tom Stafford: Give me a napkin quick. There’s a turd floating through the air.
CMP John Young: I didn’t do it. It ain’t one of mine.
LMP Cernan: I don’t think it’s one of mine.
CDR Stafford: Mine was a little more sticky than that. Throw that away.
CMP Young: God almighty.
All three: (Laughter)
Hoping they brought extra NASA socks.
