Imagine going to journalism school for four years only to end up writing an article entitled "cats are not deaf"

I read the r/science article about this (I will read things if it's about cats). The experiment basically used speakers in different places to "teleport" their owner's voice around the house. The cats exhibited surprise when their owner made totally impossible movements (e.g. hearing the sound from one end of the house to suddenly being close to the cat). I guess the discovery is that cats keep a mental image of their local area based on sound, which still seems obvious but was apparently disputed.

Lots of people think cats are just dumb.
