Meh, it's got its issues once you're at the power user level but sometimes it's nice to have a consumer machine that Just Works after spending all week at work trying to debug obscure Linux issues. I use arch at home but some of the smartest and most savvy sysadmins I know mostly just use macOS personally cause they're too tired to let anything that feels like work bleed into home

Lots of them use Macs because if you get a choice of laptop, the windows one will always be shittier.

It does indeed, though disclaimer: I don't play games online, only single player, but if I'm not mistaken some of those anti-cheat software (some of which are actual kernel rootkits on windows) might be problematic if you do.
yeah anticheat's still an issue, though battleye and iirc easyanticheat are going to add linux support that developers can enable

This is a real mood. Audio plugins for Linux are decades behind Windows in many cases, likely because VST APIs were tailored for Windows. I’d kill for a modern amp sim on Linux. Super thankful that Reaper runs natively now, but an amp sim and a professional sounding drum set virtual instrument would make it doable for me
Actually, you might be pleased to find that all your games work fine on Linux. I have yet to run into any issues with mine since the switch to linux
To be fair, just because linux lets me do something, doesn't mean it won't break. Linux will walk off a cliff if you ask it to. Loyal to the bitter end.
