dAMN dude usually the author isn't the one who makes the dystopian story a reality.
This is the same mirror universe where Netflix created Squid Game as a warning to never create Squid Game, only to then create Squid Game.
Didn't both the movies lose money? At the very least, the second one?
I wanna say yes? Refusing to look it up (busy watching Trigun)
I see a few articles speculating a 2025 or 2026 release date, I don't think it's going to happen but we'll see but I hope not.
The first movie made a net profit of like $450 million and I think they're still discussing whether to make a sequel of the second book because everyone said that it sucked ass.
I whish they would forget about the movie and use only the book stuff.
Dork in the comments thinks the book was any better lol
I did read the first book and it leaned into the dystopian parts a lot more than the movie despite the ending being equally lib. Like the movie has a drone flying in a pizza delivery in the first couple minutes of the movie when in the book everyone eats nutrient paste.
i can't believe ulysses isn't here to witness this post, he would've had the time of his life
I can't wait to have my own personal John Candy simulation to torture forever!
I knew someone who watched that movie as a part of some defense contractor recruitment thing. He was so disgusted he converted to Islam after that. Needless to say he did not take the job.
Continuing the trend of attempting to realize sci-fi dystopia fiction in our reality.
Neal Stephenson is doing the same, sadly. Also they want web3 so bad.
