(If you are out of the loop, that’s okay! Kyle Rittenhouse is a chud kid who is on trial for murdering two protesters and injuring another in Kenosha, Wisconsin in the aftermath of protests over a police shooting that paralyzed Jacob Blake, a black man. There is a lot of news about the case circling around right now because the trial is ongoing.)

Questions you should regularly ask yourself when outraged about injustice:

What resources exist so I can better educate myself?

Who’s already doing work around this injustice?

Do I have the capacity to offer concrete support & help to them?

Even ignoring the racism of the case in the most lib manner possible, why the hell are people allowed to premeditate self-defense now? Isn't that driving a stake through the heart of all social obligation? It's a blatant degradation of common morality.

edit: To clear any confusion, premeditated self-defense is not legally supported at all in the United States, but I am concerned that stand-your-ground may be expanded to include it via legislation or through precedent via cases similar to this.

Don't quote laws to men with swords. They have the tacit approval of the state to kill whoever they want as long as they "defend business"

there are no obligations in a collapsing society. this is just proof that society crumbles and fades.

You're not allowed to "pre-meditate self defense". The verdict was trash, you cannot go looking for trouble, point a rifle at someone, and expect to get away claiming self defense.

I know the law is against that, and the law was ignored in the case, and the vast majority of people will not receive the same special brownshirt treatment. But it might be the next legislative step beyond stand-your-ground, and similar extra-legal defenses will likely be made by fascists in the future.

I mean even if Fascists don't succeed in using a "They were coming right at me!" defense it'll still embolden them to carry guns everywhere and threaten people.
