Yeah, the shit they say is fucking appalling. I was in a town group with a bunch of boomers and they would routinely call the local Indian population subhuman, imply that there were too many of them and that they need to be culled, "Muslim" jokes about Indians (like, being so ignorant you think Indians = Afghans), curry jokes, being too smelly, just all manner of denigration and cruelty

even in my day to day other minorities will occasionally talk about Indians in an "it" voice as if they don't have any humanity. I personally have had a lot of weird/bad experiences with Indians but I've also known enough of them to know that they're like....people. I remember one of my friends in middle school would cut because he was Indian. He would tell me that he wished he was at least Mexican like me "because people don't fuck with you guys as much (because everyone thinks we're all thugs or criminals, lol)".

In fact, pretty much every Indian person in the USA I know has told me they hate themselves at some point. It's fucked up shit lol.

As for the racism against Indians, yeah, I've found that hard to purge from myself, largely because a lot of them are really removed from Western Values™ (the lack of respect for personal space thing still bothers the fuck outta me) so it's jarring cohabitating with them sometimes but whatever is wrong with them is pretty much just the same shit that is wrong with everyone else, it's just we've been conditioned to give shit like insane white people a pass
