My uncle is dying so he's started smoking again. I hate the smell tho and want to get him a good vape for Christmas. What are some good vapes/flavors out there? Hopefully for a sane price but sometimes u gotta go all out for ur uncle

Go to a vape store and tell them exactly what you said here lol. knowing if a person has smoked previously, what they smoke helps

I use this for nicotine, Geekvape Aegis.

It has a rubberized coating and metal brace so it's durable. Less than $70 probably, only has 2 buttons so it's not overly complex.

As far as good flavors that's probably dependant on what you/they will be able to get at a local smoke/head shop.

I like Vapetasia's stuff, but that's what I like best at the place I go to.

I have that mod too, and it's great, but keep in mind - you're gonna need a battery charger, 4 batteries, a tank, coils, and juice for this bad boy. You're probably looking at another $60 on top of the $60 for the vape itself, at least. And if he's too boomer-brained he might not be willing to futz with it if he doesn't like it, he might not try different juice or different strengths of nicotine or whatever. He also might not like carrying around the huge heavy box with a leaky tank in his pocket all day (and rare is the tank that won't drip if it gets upended for any significant period of time).

I guarantee that there's a vape store near you that has a decent starter kit setup that might be better for him to dip his toes in, and a nic salts vape (basically a very fancy juul) might be easier for him.

I only vape solids (not oils/carts) but I've used the GPen pro for a couple years and like it a lot. I upgraded to the GPen elite a couple months ago and have been really fond of that one as well

Thank you. Is a solid vape like one of those old vaporizer machines before they were pocket sized and you just put tobacco or weed in it?

Not sure I'm familiar with the machines so I can't make a good comparison. It's pocket sized but it's all metal/ceramic apart from the mouthpiece and the power button. The one I've had for a few years is still real solid, I only replace it because I wanted to upgrade

Little late to the party but to maybe save you the trouble, this and the dynavape someone else recommended are for vaping weed flower, not nicotine.

If you can't find the other suggestions, my friend who have swapped from smoking to vaping have found the Nord stuff to be a good vape to swap to

I've got a little smok nova something or other. Whatever the guy at the shop recommended basically. I Like it because it doesnt have buttons. They've come a long way pretty much any of those refillable pod styles work well enough. Honestly only thing like a cig is a cig if I'm dying I'd probably just smoke.

Can't remember the name of the vape I used because I have luckily managed to quit nicotine, but look for a vape that has refillable cartridges. That way you can buy a couple carts and whatever juice you want to refill them several times. Otherwise you have to fuck around with wicks and stuff, or have to spend a bunch of money on prefilled carts.

Juul is okay but the carts are very expensive and they don't have much juice in them. I have refilled juul pods before but it is challenging and messy.

I used to buy 30mL bottles of juice and refill a cart ~10 times before tossing it since the wick will go bad. Refillable carts/pods are generally the cheaper/simplest way.

As someone else recommended, going to a vape store is a good idea. Don't buy a super expensive one though, $40-50 is the max I would go because these things break.

Also mint/menthol is the best flavor imo.
