Lucía Sánchez Saornil, born on this day in 1895, was a poet, anarchist, and feminist who fought in the Spanish Civil War and was one of the founders of Mujeres Libres.

Mujeres Libres was an anarchist women's organization in Spain from 1936 - 1939, associated with the anarcho-syndicalist labor union Confederación Nacional del Trabajo (CNT) and Solidaridad Internacional Antifascista (SIA).

In 1931, Saornil, who had been working as a telephone operator since 1916, participated in a strike by the CNT against Telefónica. The event was a turning point in her life, and from this point forward, Lucía dedicated herself to the struggle for anarchist social revolution.

With the defeat of the Second Republic, Lucía and her partner América were forced to flee to Paris, where Lucía continued her involvement in the SIA. Lucía was buried in Valencia, Spain, and her tombstone epitaph reads, "But is it true that hope has died?" ("¿Pero es verdad que la esperanza ha muerto?").

There's this nerd at work who just won't go along with a bit ever. I saw another dude looking super close at a small piece of sausage, I asked the dude if he wanted to borrow my jewelers loop and estimated it as a 15 karat sausage. This nerd ass dweeb dork pointed out that sausages aren't measured in karats. So I pretended to get a phone call "oh, hold on a second. Hello? Oh hey what's up SCIENCE? Did those new Bunsen burners come in? Nice, nice. I'm doing good, I'm at work and gotta call you back but real quick, can you measure sausages in karats? Yeah, like gold. Okay. Alright. Awesome, thanks. Well yeah, guess we gotta get back to our respective laboratory. Okay. Have a kickass week, science." And explained that I was just on the phone with Science and they backed me up. He retorted that I wasn't really talking to anyone. At this point I'm pissed off at this little fucking twerp not letting me have fun cause that phone call from Science gag was fucking gold and just said blankly to him "you're very literal and it isn't at all charismatic." He then stopped talking to me.

Take calls from Science. Have a really friendly chit chat tone about and check in about how those test tubes are holding up or whatever and have them confirm whatever bullshit you're on. It's really fun and pretty much always gets a good laugh if you do it well.

It's a really fun thing to have in your repertoire. You can make shit up with impunity and have a hilarious out when someone calls you on it.

This person pretty obviously 1) is neurodivergent and 2) doesn't want you making their workday harder to get through

The mistake is thinking of that dude as a dude. Think of them more like a pet. It helps. You take care of them in excahnge for loyalty and companionship and you do you best to ignore weird smells. At least that is how my relationships tend to work so I figure it's close to the same.

You are more than a pet, FidelCashflow. Dont be so hard on yourself (or others)

What? No, I was specifically her pet. It was the thing i dunno what a better term would be for like that kind of thing

But I noticed that was a dynamic I would naturally evolve over time in most relationships. Not gonna fully blame the neurodivergence, but I think it may have more than something to do with it. Since in talking with other neurodivergent people that kind of attachment style works well for them also.
