When I conquer America one of my key policy goals in unfencing America, banning large animal agriculture, and creating large, like 500m-1k, wildlife avenues between agricultural fields so we can have some kind of ecology and still produce food. And without wasting so much land on large animal husbandry we'll have plenty of ag land.

Have you read that Kim Stanley Robinson novel, Ministry for the Future? They do some stuff like that, creating land bridges and whatnot, to reconnect ecosystems.
I haven't read that one, but I was a big fan of the Red Marks Blue Mars Green Mars books.
It's a bit lib at times but you'll probably like MftF then. I found it a smoother read than Red Mars, imo. Still gotta read the rest one of these days.
