I have a friend who has believed every "KJU is dead" story for the past eight years. Every time I tell him "we've had this conversation so many times before! What makes this time different?" but he insists this time it's real. Propaganda is wack.
You're right but a case like this is pretty much just racism. Once, I could maybe chalk it up to propaganda. After repeated debunkings and lack of evidence, it's a bad faith actor or confirmation bias.
I remember in 2011-2013 Reddit thinking we're on the verge of WWIII literally every time the exact same set of headlines got ran. The explanation I accepted was NK is looking for aid, but now I'm pretty sure it's just the media not having other stories to run and deciding to portray the status quo as aggression.
