    I really need to get in on this NFT thing. Fuck it. The only real option is to make as much money as you can so you can have as much spare time as you want/need to be fulfilled. The cope can start moralizing about the environment, but me refusing to do NFTs is not going to stop climate change. We're locked in no matter what we do short of becoming terrorists and promptly dying for the cause. I can't do podcasting but I can make 100 little pictures and hope to sell them for a markup on minting costs. I'd rather do that for a living than do hard labor that just results in someone else getting richer.

        That definitely is a lot of it that doesn't usually get mentioned. It's a marketing thing. Just making the NFT is one part but then you have to build a community around it who will invest in it and make it more popular. That's why all these businesses are getting in on it as a marketing gimmick. They already have the community via their customer base. They already have a platform to push it.

            Today western popular culture has by and large ceased to create anything new. All the handful of IP rights conglomerates who own our culture do is to regurgitate decades-old box office hits.
