    I get it. My post the other day drew enough salt for someone to create an account in response.

    As to your below-mentioned take, I fully agree. Showing violence, especially sexual violence, is treated as short hand for mature or titillation. But then those writers will say it served a purpose, that purpose being something for the aggressor.

    The worst defense though was citing historical accuracy. Like no, buddy. Zombies, magic, and dragons don't exist in history, so let's be real. These forms of media are created by human people and choosing to depict or not depict something is pushing a narrative. You don't get to just put some shit on a screen and act like it doesn't affect people.

      It's totally for historical accuracy and maturity to have a full frontal rape scene, maybe even one in front of the mutilated corpse of the rape victim's former lover. This in no way intended to titillate the audience and will in no way normalize the expectation of this media presented as entertainment to keep churning out more of the same.
