The previous regulations had any cases in a cohort (school class) isolating if there is a confirmed case, and if there is an outbreak in the school (more than 3 cases I think) , then there is a public health decision to potentially dismiss the whole school.
I think by not reporting the idea is to avoid these types of closures and dismissals, otherwise people will be home a lot. That is terrifying that they just expect omicron to run rampant through schools and no closures.
I wish they would do a general lockdown for January - like they did at the beginning of the pandemic.
For now, I know a lot of parents want to keep schools open because it's impossible to work with kids at home. But if there were a full on lockdown with most jobs being postponed or shut down and focussing on the safety of the essential workers, people would be ok with it I think.
ugh, the small business tyrants in my local sub are up in arms about a potential lock down, "my profits, ive been closed and did not take a vacation this year, now i know how the jews of germany in 1939 felt"

why are those fucking weirdos so highly represented in geographically based (ie. city or province) subreddits? is that much of our population chuds?
i think local reddits attract the most reactionaries, but the /r/canada sub is run by literal white supremacists/white nationalists so who knows
