Wipe and reinstall Windows.
If that fails, wipe and install Linux.
If that fails, it's probably a hardware issue and requires component repair or replacement.
There's a real possibility it might have been stealing your processor time to mine crypto.
How's your random access memory looking? Is the HD LED solid on when it jams up? You're probably running out of RAM and the OS is swapping memory pages to the pagefile on the disk (incredibly slow).
What's your RAM usage like? Check task manager to see if it's a hardware bottleneck, or there's a background process taking up a bunch of resources.
Otherwise you could try reinstalling graphics drivers.
