I like how they just completely shat the bed on the sequel trilogy then decided that they should probably bring in writers that actually have talent for all the supplemental shit that doesn’t directly matter
Like, I’ve seen less people bitching about the prequel trilogy since the buyout
You know, there would be nothing unfixable if they did not preemptively cursed themselves with yet another but heavier prequel curse - SW were pretty fast paced, setting build wise, and Expanded Universe presented fans with breakneck pace where in not even 30 years in universe we had content of a hundred books, and most of them weren't even inconsequential, but had more or less standing setting evolution (this is also the reason i didn't complained about prequel trilogy much, i liked it and it did not crashed and burned entire setting, it remained open unlike the current one).
But the fuckers behind ep 7 just decided to skip that 30 years and set the result in hard stone so whatever happen in those 30 years will be like reading fortune cookies. Again, it would not be so bad if the plotline moved beyond the 30 years, but as we can see it's not happening, entirety of new canon appear to be set in eternal prequel between Clone Wars and Last Jedi.
I had hoped at least the new High Republic setting would be somewhat better, but despite some highlights like fairly interesting protagonists and antagonists here and there it not only is not taken seriously by its creators, but the setting premise is SHIT capital letters, set something like 200 years BBY but galaxy state is looking even worse than in 5000 BBY, and even 5000 BBY was not very consistent with other eras for the same reason.
have 27 babies all named R2D2, raise none of them, get officially disowned by at least one
Wow so a dad can't name his kid "Lockheed Martin x-232321 stealth bomber" and read her racist nursery rhymes from south africa?
He can, but that cuts into his Being Constantly Online time, so he won't.
In a retrospect, Disney owning Star Wars instead of Musk is the lesser evil.
