I'm not imagining things, am I? Like I'll watch a video at normal volume and then all of a sudden I'm blasted with 300DB advertisement music, then when the video starts all I hear is ringing. Is it just hearing loss from having my ear canals filling with blood, or is youtube deliberately making their ads way louder than the videos they're on?
I have to make do with the shitty Brave adblock for Qutebrowser so it can't touch YouTube ads, but I have lowercase m bound to open a link using xdg-open, so I can just tap m and then the key combo for the link and it'll just open up in a new window in MPV with all my subtitle and quality preferences set and Sponsorblock skipping the in-video ads.
I still miss uBlock Origin though. Way better interface, far more advanced blocking. I could set that thing to just out of hand block all third party bullshit and just manually allow things through as needed. But Tridactyl on Firefox is too limited by Firefox's security requirements for extensions and no one's got a Firefox fork for that sort of thing.
Oh shit does sponsor block work with mpv now?

There's some more minimal versions but this one can do things like not skip again if you deliberately rewind, it can handle voting, etc. Newpipe has a fork with Sponsorblock built in, and Vanced also has it built in. No idea what the situation is on iOS, but the Sponsorblock API could totally be used by any app there, it's just more difficult to find FOSS projects on that platform.
EDIT: A full list of Sponsorblock ports, it looks like iOS needs a jailbreak tweak to add it to the official YouTube app. https://github.com/ajayyy/SponsorBlock/wiki/3rd-Party-Ports
Sick thanks!
