The game isn't as tight as it could be, still good though. However the vibes are amazing. If they speak to you I mean. They went back in and added spanish voice acting and that just hits different if you wanted to see what Guillermo Del Toro would do with Dark Souls this would be it.
Super Metroid rom hacks (metroidconstruction.com/) are worth looking into if you want some retro gaming with a a fresh take. Some of the hacks are complete redesigns on par with the original.
