it's actually selfish because they're spreading their seed
Game modding is another great example... and is why I absolutely screamed when Bethesda implemented paid mods. Bringing money into anything ruins it. I'm looking forward to NFTs in games soon enough...
:negative:
I stopped using torrents because I couldn't seed for some reason. Thought it might be because I was behind a router, but even after I configured it for port forwarding and every test indicated that it had been successful, I still couldn't seed.
Try enabling upnp in router and client...
Some ISPs have firewall or use CG-NAT which prevents proper seeding.
i would generally not advocate for allowing any application to open a port automatically in my router. and i certainly wouldn't make the basis of my seeding my home network without a vpn
I agree about upnp, but it does work if they made a mistake in setting up manual port forward.
As for seeding from home with no vpn, ig that depends where you live. I should've mentioned that in my original post and not assumed they knew.
I feel so bad about my seed ratio but I'm data capped and it includes uploads. If I ever get real internet I'm gonna have to seed non stop to assuage my guilt.
