Can't believe none of y'all have said Stone Mountain in Georgia. It's a badass gigantic solid rock the size of a mountain that was defaced by Klansmen in the 1900s with a shit carving of the Confederate high command. Gonna smooth that shit back out so we can all just enjoy the cool giant rock.
She chose the sculptor Gutzon Borglum for the project and invited him to visit the mountain (although, despite his Ku Klux Klan involvement, she "would not shake his hand—he was, after all, a Yankee") [...] Borglum's next major project was Mount Rushmore
