I hadn't really thought about it too much, but even in my relatively brief time on this planet I haven't heard as many as the years have went on. The world is being stripped away from us comrades. The little things that bring joy and make life interesting are going extinct at rates never before seen. The universe seems darker every day.

I had a similar realization a couple years ago when I was hanging out with my rural friends.

10 years ago when we were there at night the entire field would be lit up with fireflies. Now you're lucky if you see just a few buzzing around.

Life is becoming more bland as the 'spices' are killed off.

It was worth it I guess, we had McDonalds and a few guys got super duper rich! There aren't clouds in California like there was when I was a kid :deeper-sadness:

It really is crazy isn't it? I lived in northern California for a few years and there were huge stretches of time in which the sky had absolutely zero clouds. It took moving to a new area and readjusting to realize just how bizarre that is.

I used to go to my grandparents and catch fire flies with my siblings. They really don't show up anymore like they used to.
