I hadn't really thought about it too much, but even in my relatively brief time on this planet I haven't heard as many as the years have went on. The world is being stripped away from us comrades. The little things that bring joy and make life interesting are going extinct at rates never before seen. The universe seems darker every day.
A metric shit-ton of bird species are dying. For once, the main culprit is not climate change but our agricultural practices; see these two articles:

... thus far birds are dying mainly due the ongoing dramatic collapse of one of the foundations of the food web (among many other roles): insects. Thus far the impact of our modern pesticide-based agricultural practices is the main driver of that, though it is likely climate change consequences will eventually outrun those.
Every last capitalist should be ground to paste to restart these ecosystems. That's the only good they could ever do.
