For Americans like myself, my guess is that some kind of collapse would be similar to Russia in the 90s. Shit would get really bad, people on top would die, and eventually someone would come out of the CIA and take over and mostly stabilize things. Then we'd be a regional power with an outsized military force relative to our economy, looking on while South America and Africa and Southeast Asia all pivot towards China. The chances that we pick a war with someone that costs far more than we get out of it is almost 100%, but sadly I don't think that places like Hawaii will break away even though they totally should.
