    14 year old
    the cars they drive

I hate when people use young age as some insult as if 14 year olds are just idiots incapable of making accurate observations about how fucked something is for the environment, or just how fucked the environment is in general. They're going to have to live more of their lives with the consequences than you. And it's made extra dumb here by pairing it with something 14 year olds can't even do, drive. They don't even have any choice in their method of transportation.

But also even as adults we kinda don't have much choice in our transportation. Our cities are built to be car dependent. You can't not drive a car. Doesn't he live in LA? He should know this. It's not hypocrisy, we literally don't have a choice. While we absolutely do have a choice not buy those dumbass jpegs.

    and the planes they fly

Again, we don't have much choice, there isn't exactly a high speed rail network to get to further away destinations.

and throw away AA batteries every other month

wtf is he even talking about here?

wtf is he even talking about here?

This doesn't sound like his usual nonsensical humor. It sounds suspiciously like that conservative thing where they try to tell a joke, get way too mad halfway through to think clearly and instead make a barely coherent rant

I think that last part, unless u/FreakingSpy is correct, is just a really dated idea of energy consumption to back when every gizmo had batteries. everything charges now so it seems like a very out of touch thing to say. Like he thinks we all live in the 90's/early aughts while he lives in the crazy digital future.
