To my understanding, people no longer use cloaks. What is the modern day replacement for a cloak if that is the case? Kvothe talks about all the pockets he has in his green cloak, how it keeps the rain off of him, and how it can keep him warm if he camps out for the night. Is it the jacket + backpack for travelers now?
You can wear a cloak over a long coat for even more pockets, protection, and warmth (also good for concealing large objects). And they just look cool as fuck
