Maybe this is an opinion informed from ignorance, but it seems like part of the problem might be pro-EU and pro-RU elements in the country jockying for power.
Like I don't think this anti-russian sentiment emerged out of no where and I don't think it's limited to the genocidal fascists, so I feel like a move to install a puppet is going to be met with some resistence.
