Unironically a Jewish state in Europe would have been much better than Isn'treal. But it would probably be in the eastern land that Poland was given from Germany.
Stalin was rightfully unwilling to create a new ethnostate in Eastern Europe after losing over 50 million humans to what surmounted to ethnic violence from 1914-1945. Also considering who just killed 6 million Jews, I think they wanted to get out of dodge.
He offered Jewish people 3 options. An area in eastern Russia, knowing that it was actually empty and would not incite ethnic tensions.
The right to exodus to Israel, the US/British supported mandate in Palestine, knowing that it would not lead to tension with the two powers.
Or finally to live as Soviets first, and their ethnicity second, as he asked everyone else in the region to be.
Someone on here suggested a couple months back that we give them Florida as the new Israel and I still think that would be the best solution
