We repudiate the provocations of the US, NATO and the position of the Argentine government on the crisis in Ukraine
The Communist Party of Argentina rejects the imperialist policies of the United States and the expansion of NATO towards Eastern Europe and particularly on the border with Russia, an expansion that we can also verify in the South Atlantic with the case of the Malvinas Islands, which It has put world peace and the future of humanity at risk.
Russia's recognition of the sovereignty of the Donetsk and Lugansk People's Republics is being used as an excuse by the US and NATO, to justify provocations against Russia and as it does throughout the world, supporting and organizing the pro-Nazi far-right in Ukraine, where the Communist Party is also banned.
The current Ukrainian government has made this country one of the poorest in Europe and has silenced, with the complicity of the US and Europe, the attacks suffered by the populations of Donetsk and Lugansk in recent years.
The US, as the head of a capitalist system in crisis, seeks to sustain its questionable hegemony, its flawed unipolar model, with provocations, destabilizations and military interventions as it has done constantly throughout the 20th and 21st centuries. This strategy is not alien to the manipulation carried out through the media and the falsification of history that has led to this situation.
Latin America and the Caribbean can provide ample examples of these interventionist policies carried out by the US and its allies through, for example, unilateral sanctions, destabilizing actions and the occupation of the Malvinas Islands by Great Britain.
The position of the Argentine government, calling on Russia to "cease military actions in Ukraine" is nothing more than a dangerous and growing alignment with the policies of the United States and the international organizations that that country controls, as happens in the negotiations and conditions imposed by the IMF.
Let us defend the rights of peoples to live in peace.
Let us reject the militaristic and interventionist policy of the US and NATO
Solidarity with the peoples of Donetsk and Lugansk.
@Alaskaball posted the statement of his own party, PCUSA, that basically said the same thing. It's deleted now, I wonder why
waiting for a go-ahead from Central. I and a few others did a whoopsie by pushing the post button early.
Edit: it's also now officially posted
