What contractor has “if you’re not completely satisfied, the job is free” written into their contracts?

If you do a job in such a way that it costs money to fix, who is responsible for that expense?

I’m not a contractor so it’s very possible I’m misunderstanding something here, but isn’t there a difference between being liable for cleanup after your shitty jobs and just not getting paid in the first place?

Like if I cause damages to my workplace they don’t just withhold my paycheck. I go to court and pay damages. Is there not a similar system for contractors?

Like say if you hire a guy to tile your bathroom and everything is poorly spaced, poorly measured and the tiles themselves are all turned around so where there should be a pattern is just random. You could use that to keep moisture out of the concrete. It's not a total loss. But if you wanted to fix it, you would have to do a full re-do.

Another thing is maybe the work done is just plain not up to code. All transactions have considerations where the buyer may reasonably refuse to pay for one reason or another. My candy bar didn't have the chocolate coating. You sent me home with the wrong baby.
