It seems that we have a few game developers on Hexbear, so I was wondering if there'd be any interest in a community game jam. I'm thinking a week-long jam where the submitted games would have some sort of left-wing theme (I actually have one in mind, though I obviously don't want to spoil it). Winners in various categories and overall winner could be decided by a community vote.
I might submit my own game for this jam if it gets off the ground, but I would disqualify my entry from voting because being the host and knowing the theme ahead of time would give me an unfair advantage.
EDIT: Sounds like we have a fair amount of interest, so I'll make a follow up post tomorrow and ask the mods to pin it.
EDIT 2: Thanks mods for the sticky!
i have no idea how people get so much stuff done so fast in game jams, i take like months to do anything meaningful in my personal projects
Hypomanic episodes and enough monster to kill an elephant lmao

SCOPE CONTROL
CUT EVERYTHING
if we cut EVERYTHING, we reduce the workload by 100%! it's genius really

Using the right platform helps. I can get things done very quickly in Godot.
i actually use godot too lol
same. I like to write stuff from scratch so it takes a while to make anything substantial to happen
