Also known as red mung beans, these beans are known to be made into red bean paste, which is a common ingredient in lots of places in East Asia.
I thought of this megathread because a friend just now mentioned getting red bean paste for me, and I'm looking forward to red bean buns :isaac-pog:

The ending of the first episode seemed cool where the borg were petitioning to join starfleet but they were too paranoid to allow a born queen to beam on board to discuss things so she tries to force her way on and assimilate the ship, they set a self destruct and it turns out it was Q and like, the seed was planted that Picard as chancellor of starfleet academy (which at a graduation speech had both Klingon and Ferengi flags) had adjust the Koviyash Maru, so like the Q trial being this Borg thing could be cool. Instead the Bell Riots didn't happen so now future is evil and starflwet is fascist, but it's different from the mirror universe or that Enterprise 2 parter.
I was a bit optimistic for a second at the end of the episode when Picard totally shits the bed at diplomacy and then Q shows up. Made it feel like the whole thing with the borg was a test by Q. Then the preview for the series happened and it turns out they're going to piss all over the Bell Riots from DS9. Instead of being explicitly about class struggle as the original episode comes closer and closer to being the most accurate star trek prediction ever it will totally liberalize(which I'm attacking from a left of liberal perspective here just to be clear) the conflict and the only time the show will do is endorse non violence and passive protest for the poor, not ever touching on the monopoly legitimized violence held by the ruling class, it will be in Healing the Divide in America and Coming Together and I'm sure there will be a Well Meaning Extremist who Goes to Far and kills a billionaire or whatever. Wealth disparity is higher than the guided age and the tent cities are real, I'm in no fucking mood for rich producers to sell me moderate rhetoric as my house is bought out from under me (which did just happen, renting a new place costs triple, I had to move back home at 30, I'd be homeless without that option) when it is clear that it is a class war and should be treated as such. DS9 already handled it and handled it well.
