I was at a job centre one time and they asked me what I'd be interested in if I were to completely change "careers" and I mentioned organizing, agitation, workers rights etc and the lady mentioned working in hr and when I said that hr exists to protect the company from the workers and not to help the workers she was just like :yea: lmao

No, it's a job in this hellscape and we all gotta eat. Outside of being a parasitic landlord or actively working for a defense contractor making missiles or something every job is involved in a long and elaborate chain of suffering that kills 0.34 of a person every hour, that's just how our current world works. Apply for an HR job and organize outside work and don't feel bad about it—excessive hang wringing over the "morality" of employment in a capitalist economy while also wanting it to be destroyed is just "you hate capitalism, yet you have an iPhone" with extra steps.

Ya know, I worked with one HR person who did everything to hook employees up with resources. She was eventually let go in 2020, but having seen one person in the role who wasn't a POS makes me hopeful others could be helpful.

Yeah if I can be the one actually helpful hr person then that would be nice

depends, are you going to actively suppress and sabotage unionization efforts and complaints against management/the company? yes
or are you going to take the paycheck and not do those things you're paid for? no
