    “Let people enjoy things” was always bullshit. Good things can stand up to criticism, good critique can even help you appreciate them more. Someone saying “Shakespeare sucks” is just going to make themselves look dumb, while a well-written dissection of Shakespeare just proves that Shakespeare is worthy of critique even if everything it says isn’t positive. I don’t think funko pops can stand up to criticism, because there’s nothing there.

    It's kind of the "free speech" argument in microcosm. Sure you can enjoy/say whatever thing you want but at the same time other people have a right to call your thing/idea dumb and you can't stop them from saying it.
