“We will continue to make decisions based on the best evidence and science to keep communities healthy and safe,” said Dave Daigle, a spokesperson for the CDC.

Since 2021, the agency has said people should isolate for at least five days if they tested positive for Covid-19, and then continue to mask. The updated guidance would bring Covid-19 in line with guidance for other respiratory viruses, such as flu.

"Feeling sick? Eat shit. Everyone is sick. No one cares, go back to work. Fuck you. This country doesn't make money if your at home recovering you lazy fuck face baby" CDC director Mandy K. Cohen, was reported to have said. "oh, woah is me, i got a widdle cold" she continued, while pantomiming crying.

The science around Covid-19 transmission hasn’t changed, but experts broadly agreed after the California and Oregon changes that easing isolation timeframes won’t significantly increase community transmission or severe outcomes, in part because the virus has been circulating at very high levels, even with more restrictive guidance in place.

“Given the increased amount of immunity to Covid-19 in the population, access to treatment for Covid-19 and reductions in hospitalizations and deaths, it seems reasonable for the CDC to adapt our national strategies,” said Dr. Clay Marsh, West Virginia’s Covid-19 czar.

"Everyone has the disease all the time and it's at it's highest level in years" isn't what i usually think of when i think of "immunity" but then i am not initiated in to the mysteries of Ba'al Nergal, Lord of Plagues.

well they're late to the party because except for a vanishingly small number of people, most everyone near me stopped bothering years ago.

Yeah, aside from my wife and I, things are completely back to normal in my circles. The only people who are being cautious are hermits and that’s not even on purpose, it’s just because they don’t go out.

Yeah, that’s how we are too, if we have to go out we mask indoors. I’ve had it once, my wife twice. Still not sure how I avoided it the second time, but we are really trying our best to avoid it at all costs because we are already immunocompromised. It’s really really hard to keep having to tell people we aren’t comfortable going back to normal, they don’t seem to understand unless we spill the beans on our personal medical situations, which we shouldn’t have to do just to get respect for our position.

Eh imo this was already fully disregarded anyway. Employers do not give a fuck about "guidelines" and never have.

Despite this, every person involved in this decision should still be hanged.

I just had covid and I could not stand up without having my head spin wildly, and I've wasted my entire vacation being locked indoors so as to not infect others, but yeah sure okay
