    Shocking that a guy called "Cultural Crusader" didn't actually understand Starship Troopers, I know, but pretty sure a big part of that movie's message was that the fascist government manufactured consent for a conflict on the other side of the galaxy with a race of beings that had nothing to do with it.

    I could understand how they get confused, after all, the movie's internal propaganda says that the bugs launched a meteor at earth to destroy for no reason. Clearly this means they did that because movies that have subtext are too hard.

      The same aliens have no space presence or technology whatsoever. They literally would not have been able to do it.

        They even have a news graphic in the movie where they show the bugs on the literal opposite side of the galaxy from Earth and then claim that they somehow launched an asteroid at us from there

        No you see the big beetles shot their blue goo at a space rock and hit it hard enough to launch it into Earth's trajectory perfectly from that big of a space/time distance. They calculated this shot using eyesight and presumably brain bug telepathy mathematics and somehow we still doubt their sentient intelligence
