I read this article and was curious about people's thoughts.

Some of it has been on my mind for a while, and I believe that many boomers vote the way they do mostly because they just miss being a kid. Public transportation bad, because they grew up on cars. The whole idea of not being able to buy a house or get a job is incomprehensible to them because the odds were more in the individual's favor rather than porky. So they grew to like porky more, alongside being bombarded with a lot of cold war/huac propaganda.

      Age is a commercial construct

I feel like the fact that this mural exists is a pretty strong repudiation of that concept; age has been kind of a battleground of hierarchy in Euro-society for a while.

I agree with that, but I'm not sure that contradicts the essay. I just thought it was interesting how not only were the same criticisms aimed at millennials and now gen z also aimed at boomers, but the same factors led to those similarities.

I'm looking at this article and it's like a image that won't come in to focus. I'm not sure if I've just been up all night but it reads like word salad where paragraphs don't meaningfully relate to one another and there certainly isn't any kind of coherent or throughgoing narrative.
