If it weren't a nightmare industry, kids making games for other kids would actually be cool and good. I have always found “community creations” to be a good thing for a games and hobbies. Modding, player made content, fan projects I think by themselves are fine and usually healthy, but this sort of kids do all the work and get none of the value is just some vampire shit. It's worse yet Roblox telling the kiddos they have the chance to become a digital superstar if they make the right game. These young creators have nothing but free time to create all sorts of stuff, and these Roblox MEGACORPOS just get to count the dollars. This is actually a clear is example of the means of production shit. the kids make the games, the kids play the games, but because of capitalism they don't get any of the value from the games they make.

Software and games as a service was a fuckin' mistake.

Absolutely....and again....that's why the real problem is capitalism and the inherent exploitation of it. Back when I was a kid I spent months making dragon ball z mods for Jedi Knight and I learned a hell of a lot of really cool shit about 3d, codding, computers in general, et al and I don't regret the experience. This though???

Like...people give Bethesda shit for more or less letting modders "fix" or "complete" their games but just fucking imagine if nexusmods.com got monetized like this shit??? Is that the future?!??!? Cause Fuck that!

Is this where GenZdong came from? Kids getting exposed to the truth way earlier than usual?
