      Eh, I mean if Poland had crossed the Rhineland and invaded Germany, surrounded Berlin, and dropped artillery across half the country in order to reclaim the Rhineland, I feel like the historical conversation about Nazi Germany would be a bit different in the modern day.

          From the eyes of the Americans, Germany's big sin in 1939 wasn't the domestic holocaust. It was reigniting a world war across Europe on the eve of a US-lead neoliberalization.

          And since the neoliberals got to write all the history books... Yeah, if Germany hadn't pushed into Poland and kicked off another world war, Hitler wouldn't be any worse off than Franco or Chiang in the US political lexicon.
