It was interesting seeing this divide once I noticed it. A lot of writers who are writing “diverse” sitcoms now are children of wealthy immigrants who fled communist countries. Like that one that says wearing a Che Guevara tshirt into a Latino home is like wearing a Hitler tshirt into a Jewish home. Or Ali Wong, who has a joke in her standup about her mom trying to carry her wealth with her while fleeing from communists in Korea.
