Joke of a profession. the simplest jobs have a minimum quote in hundreds or thousands of dollars. I'm talking swapping a toilet, installing an electric water heater. The pay isn't even the biggest issue. I get it's market demand, so why take a pay cut when you don't need to? My biggest thing is how fucking lazy they are. Yeah, go ahead and install Freshwater CPVC in 2024 without even asking the homeowner, then start cutting 3 inch notches in every joist you can find for the drains. Bitch and moan whenever someone wants you to install not the ugliest, plumber's supply bargain mixing valve or faucet, because "Kohler's Hardware is too inconvenient". They have zero pride in what they make, zero interest in learning how to use new products. Most of them probably don't even know about wall hung toilet and hidden cistern are. why would they, when they can get paid $600 for dropping a new toilet on a flange?

Uncritical support for plumbers overcharging landlords and barely doing anything anyway.

I'll keep that in mind, in regards to plumbing... it seems they're running on the cheap...

So what does the PMC liberal have to do with this? Japanese auto toilets?

OK this has gone on too long now. PMC is clearly NOT a reference to Private Military Company, and I have played too much MGS growing up. So what does it actually mean?

A theory that originated with James Burnham and we're all just supposed to ignore that part, and we're also supposed to ignore the fact that the Ehrenreichs were not talking about middle managers employed by corporations when they coined the term but government bureaucrats, academics, lawyers, artists, writers, journalists and doctors and that they have dismissed and repudiated the term since then, because it does not make sense in a post neoliberal world.
