Didn't Van Buren ultimately turn into FO:NV? Basically all the stuff I heard about Van Buren wound up making its way into New Vegas in some way, even down to the planned ending where nukes get launched again.
The main quest is different if i remember it well, small parts of it ended up in Fallout 3 of all places
