Ignore the reality of the massively improved material conditions the people of Cuba have experienced since the revolution, thanks to policies implemented by Castro, the communist party, and the people of Cuba themselves. Instead, focus on my nebulous accusations of "dictator" I'm applying to Castro because I just know in my heart he's a meanie.
Edit:
I went to Cuba in the 90s, and the poverty – or, to put it more precisely from the observable data of the tourist, the abject lack of stuff – was unignorable.
Fucking lol. "I spent a few days in Havana in the 90s as a tourist and they didn't have hardly any TREATS!" Contrast that with what the one good Brit, Helen Yaffe says. She actually lived in Cuba for years in the 90s and got a deep understanding of the people. The Special Period was tough but that's because thanks to the US blockade they lost their key trading partner overnight. No shit a small, tropical island isn't self-sufficient for everything. But anyway, the Cuban people were committed to the revolution, and they eventually pulled through it.
I just want to make everyone aware of this monkey that looks like a Guardian columnist.
What is baizuo? I'm guessing that's another country's version of guasno?
"I'm definitely on the left and heres what the left should do: (right wing shit)" Imagine thinking a butcher like Blair is even remotely comparable to Castro lol
