I hate the Melvins. Buzz is fucking annoying as a person, and as a songwriter, every album they've ever put out is composed of 1, maybe 2 good songs and the rest filler. Their newer stuff is just butt rock.

        counterpoint: I saw the Violent Femmes live as part of a music festival, and it is the single worst thing I've ever heard in my life, recorded or live.

        agreed. also, bands that just don't bring any energy. I saw Weezer once, and I do like them, but they were so fucking high out of their minds that they just put on a horribly bland show. and I know high is like part of their whole shtick, but like... cmon.

            I think so? Certainly, a lot of artists play high/stoned, but like, I think Weezer are known as an especially enthusiastic group of drug users, to the point that it's a central part of their identity. like, broadly, not just in terms of playing while high.
