the largest study im aware of regarding nutrient profiles between omnis, various flavours of flexitarians/vegetarians, and vegans (called 'strict vegetarians' in the study) showed almost zero difference in protein intake between the groups (table 2)
grain of salt because its self-reported, and it appears to be a study of adventists, who may not be representative of the broader population (see in particular the alcohol stats), but i think its indicative that theres no dire protein problem from going vegan
