I want a comically huge faux fur black long jacket. I want to wear fishnets. I want to go around in any country without the fear of getting assaulted for looking too queer. I want to be able to afford it. And I don't want a job for no reason dictating how I look like AND making me pay for it.

I am so going to be homeless and jobless, aren't I? :(

After the revolution, everyone will slowly start dressing like Final Fantasy characters. It's basically inevitable.

for me clothing should be functional and utilitarian.

i wear one brand of overalls with black or gray t-shirts and boots. black socks. makes it easy to know what im wearing tomorrow because its the same shit as what i had on today, and yesterday. its what ive been wearing for close to 20 years now. its entirely likely its what ill be buried in, too. I'm groomed and not unkempt, but havent cared about how fashionable my clothes are in a long time. its kinda nice to be honest.

Exactly, it's a very freeing feeling, when you don't care about following whatever the fuck the latest manufactured fashion trends are. Simple shit tends to be kinda timeless, and also looks cool patched up.

I meanwhile want to wear pajama pants and baggy T-shirts literally all the time for maximum comfy but people are all "no you have to wear a belt"

Thanks for this discovery. Do you know where I could find examples of working class vintage hairdressing? I don't know if there's a vintage fashion radical values community on the Fediverse

Sadly I don't know much about this topic, the best I can tell you is to see is there isn't some historians, anthropologists or sociologists who wrote books or papers on hairdressing in former or current socialists countries and look for historical pictures. Maybe you can also try to find vintage soviet hairdresser textbooks or something like that.
