I wish there was an alternate universe I could peer into where Somerton just ignored the accusations and kept rolling like it didn't happen. I have a hypothesis that less than 10% of any given YouTube creator's audience is actually plugged into "the discourse", and that that is a viable tactic for most content creators who get into any kind of hot water.
Illuminaughty keep posting a 20min video a week, so there's your proof that ignoring the plagiarism accusation and just keeping pumping up Wikipedia articles read througs is the way to go.
The funniest part about this is that she turned off the comments of her videos, but also her quality control is absolute dogshit so one has a ~5 minute section that is completely silent. And nobody can tell her because she disabled the comments.
Hmm, her views and patreon supporters both dropped off hard though. But she still has sponsors on all of her most recent videos - if she's still getting decent sponsorship offers based on her 1.2M subscriber count, then that's a point for me - but if her earnings have dropped off a cliff like her views have, then that's a point against my hypothesis. Or maybe she can keep posting through the current slump and rebuild her audience?

I guess would be the same with Somerton.
