Good article from the failing New York Times talking about it here. I saw a distraught mom today at CVS trying to find formula for her baby. She said she has driven to 30 different towns. The clerk was able to find a small can of similac in the back. I left that scene to step out into the parking lot which faced a gas station where unleaded cash was $5 and diesel is like $6.30 and thought to myself, is this the apocalypse?
Apparently an abbot facility was contaminated that’s sort of precipitated this, and parents are understandably panic buying which is exacerbating the shortage. To top it off some shitheads are now scamming people, taking advantage of desperate parents.
This is really scary, when your kid is on formula that’s all they can eat. I really feel for these parents right now.
You’d think we would be nationalizing a factory right about now or maybe looking at sourcing it elsewhere but I haven’t heard a peep about this
