I picked up the hobby over the pandemic, and I was curious to see what other people think of it. Is it an over pretentious method when compared to traditional fishing methods, or do you feel that it offer a unique way to target fish. Obliviously the same moral issues for traditional fishing occur, such as stressing fish or unintended fish deaths (even when practicing catch and release).
I very much enjoyed it when I did it, but it's been like a decade now and my rod is gathering dust. It was much more interactive than regular fishing which I enjoyed. I'd love to pick it back up if I had the time though
I have had more fun fly fishing for bass. I have tried trout fishing but can't really get the hang of throwing tiny nymphs or dry flys. Throwing steamers is alot more fun for me.
Fly fishing for bass sounds like a ton of fun. I really need to start fishing again
