I have this really good bad idea of comparing said phone to the ipod touch 2g and seeing which one aged worse.

My issue with the Eris was that it was part of the last generation of phones with a trackball, and they put it right over the charging port. So as you can probably imagine, after a few years of clicking the trackball multiple times a day, it eventually got to the point where it wouldn't charge well anymore lol. But yeah that and the Motorola Droid would be great contenders for 2009 android phones, from what I can tell the Droid was the 6th android phone to be released in the US, and the Eris was the 7th, with the Eris being for sure the cheaper of the two.
