chuds are still gonna be like "this is because of the vaccine mandate! :frothingfash: "
I hear there’s a lot of unemployed young men in Saudi Arabia maybe we can train some of them
With the added bonus that you don't need to train them to land the planes
:frothingfash:: "You gotta trust me bro, making education even MORE expensive and cutting wages will totally help, bro! It's only a matter of time, bro! People work for free, right bro?"
The pilot "shortage" is essentially the same as the trucker "shortage". I don't know how long the later has been going on but I've been hearing about stagnating pilot wages and increasing cost to earn flight hours for almost 20 years. Way back in 2010 a friend from high school got a pro pilot degree with a ton of certs and hours out of school, and had to work crazy hours getting like $20k/year for several years. Come to think of it it's very similar to adjuncts and teaching assistants at colleges: junior pilots keep the whole thing running but are getting screwed.
my stepdad flies private planes and is VP of operations and they have planes they dont have pilots for. but that's what happens when it costs too much to get the training to get the job flying rich assholes around that makes some rich assholes richer.
